Two Years Progress & Achievements (2024–2026)

Under the leadership of Sri. Nataraj Janakiram, Chairman of the Karnataka State Coir Development Corporation Ltd (KSCDCL), the Corporation has recorded significant progress and achievements over the past two years. 

The period has been marked by focused administrative decisions aimed at strengthening institutional systems, improving financial discipline, and enhancing operational efficiency across production units and offices.

The initiatives undertaken during this tenure reflect a balanced approach toward employee welfare, infrastructure development, and organizational stability. 

Key measures such as wage revision, settlement of arrears, modernization of facilities, and participation in major state-level events have collectively reinforced the Corporation’s functional capacity and public presence. These developments demonstrate a structured and result-oriented phase in the Corporation’s ongoing growth trajectory.

Increase in Revenue
During the two-year period, the Corporation recorded an increase in revenue. This reflects improved operational performance and strengthened institutional functioning.
Purchase of New Showroom
A new showroom in the present Garment Complex was purchased with Market Development Assistance at a cost of Rs. 1.7 Crore. The earlier rental showroom was shifted to the newly purchased premises, thereby eliminating recurring rental expenditure. This step not only ensured asset creation for the Corporation but also strengthened its long-term financial sustainability.
Installation of CCTV Cameras
CCTV cameras were installed in the main production units to monitor work progress and to prevent theft and other untoward incidents. The installation has improved internal supervision and enhanced security measures within production facilities.
Sanction of New Vehicle
A new vehicle for the use of the Hon’ble Chairman was sanctioned by the Government. This supports official administrative responsibilities and institutional mobility requirements.
Invest Karnataka 2025
The Karnataka State Coir Development Corporation Ltd (KSCDCL) participated in Invest Karnataka 2025, a major state-level investment and industry event. The KSCDCL stall was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Shri D.K. Shivakumar. The inauguration marked the Corporation’s active presence at the event and provided an opportunity to showcase its activities and initiatives. Participation in Invest Karnataka 2025 strengthened the visibility of the Corporation and highlighted its role within the state’s industrial and development framework.
Payment of Arrears
The long-pending demand for payment of arrears to Corporation employees was addressed with the intervention of the Hon’ble Chairman. An amount of Rs. 87 Lakhs was paid at once to all employees. Additionally, the Dearness Allowance (DA), which had remained stagnant for the past 6 years, was sanctioned. This step provided financial relief to employees and strengthened workforce morale.
Environment Day Celebration
Environment Day was celebrated by planting fruit-bearing trees across all production units of the Corporation. This initiative reflects the Corporation’s commitment toward environmental awareness and sustainable practices.
Renovation of Office
Renovation of the office premises was undertaken to improve administrative functioning and working conditions.
Lease and Rent of Production Units
Matters relating to lease and rent of production units were addressed as part of administrative strengthening.
Increase in Wages for Coir Workers
The wages of Corporation workers had remained stagnant for the past 5 years. The wages were increased from 15% to 25%, ensuring improved livelihood support to workers engaged in the coir sector.
Vasantanarasapura Unit
The construction of shed and compound work at the Vasantanarasapura Unit has been commenced after remaining pending for nearly a decade. This marks the revival of long-pending infrastructure development at the unit.
